Flight from Virginia to Chicago - what is the airtime

Flight from Virginia to Chicago - what is the airtime?
We're flying from Virginia (eastern standard time) to Chicago which I think is Central Standard time, we leave Va at 8:15am and arrive in Chicago at 9:20am, and I don't know how long we will actually be "in flight" with the time change. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I flew from Baltimore (BWI airport) to Chicago non-stop a few years ago. I don't remember EXACTLY how long the flight was maybe an hour and a half to two hours. But I know Chicago is definately in the central time zone. Your flight itenerary though should tell you how long your trip is under "duration" At any rate I assume since you didn't mention otherwise that your flight doesn't have any stops between VA and Chicago, so I say you'll probably be in the air long enough to watch a short in flight movie. Or if your like me, you can take your IPOD or whatever portable music device you might have, and listen to an entire album from one of your favorite artists and know that will cut into a good chunk of your time. Or read if you like. And on that I would safely assume that you are arriving at 9:20 Chicago time. If you still aren't sure, I would just go to somewhere like http://www.expedia.com and type in the airport or city that you are flying out of to Chicago and look up the non-stop flights to see what they have listed for flight "duration." That will give you an accurate idea of what to expect for your trip.
