It takes about 2 hours from Richmond, VA, to St. Louis, MO. Then another 4 1/2 hours from St. Louis to Los Angeles. And it all depends on head winds too. So figure your trip will take between 7 to 8 hours. Don't forget to pack some snacks, and buy your drinks in the airport. Some airlines are now charging for both food and beverages by credit cards only.
