From Chicago to Tokyo is about 12-13 hours, so i would say something like 12-13 hours.

You would have to make a stopover somewhere in the U.S. since there are no direct flights between Virginia and South Korea. It's just too far for a non-stop flight. A convenient route is to have one-stop at Chicago, from where you can fly direct to Seoul. So, Richmond, VA to Chicago, IL takes about 2 hours. Factor in a transit time of maybe 2 hours. Then, a 13.5-hr flight from Chicago to Seoul, South Korea. That's about a 17.5-hr trip you're looking at! Depending on the route taken and the connection/transit time at the stop-over, this can easily be longer. But this should give you an idea...

There are no direct flights from Virginia to Korea so you will have to connect somewhere. From Virginia, the best connections appear to be through Atlanta, Dallas and Chicago. The shortest flight times seem to be about 17.25 hours, including connections. You could spend as long as 24 hours traveling if you pick bad connection times.
