i have never taken a baby on a plane, but i would think others would be less annoyed with baby toys than a baby screaming. i would bring the toys she likes best, noisy or not! good luck!

That's a long flight, but if you start it off by feeding the baby, it's likely she will sleep for a while. Toys that you can use to spend time that won't irritate others - soft books, picture books (books with your family pictures basically), mirror, small flashlight. I would bring some toys she is familiar with and some new ones without bringing too much. You talking to her and occasionally walking down the aisle will be another good way to pass the time. Don't worry about others being irritated by the noise from toys, I am sure they sound better than baby crying. Expect a tough plane trip, but you are smart to get prepared for it.

books! Lots and lots of books! Snacks...plush toys...rubber ducks..you could buy a portable dvd player and take it and let her watch educational videos- just keep the sound down. Hope these ideas help you! Good luck with the flight and your move!

Babies crying anyplace dark and where its some what quite sucks. I don't think anyone would mind if she place with her things. She is a baby after all. If anyone say's anything ask the flight attended to handle it. You should try and catch a red eye. Even though it sucks you might end up being close to the only one one the flight :)

I took my daughter on a plane when she was 3 months old and I lucked out - she didn't cry the whole way (3 hours plus layover plus 1 1/2 hour more). The people around me were very nice and talked to her and the man behind me played peek a boo while I was burping her. I got up several times and walked her and even let others hold her (this was 19 years ago) especially the older grandmother types who somehow have a way with babys. Just be sure that if you are not breastfeeding to carry plenty of formula with you because you never know if you'll be sitting on the tarmac for hours while they decide if you are going to take off or not. Ask to move to different seats if there are 2 empty ones together, you are going to get tired of holding her in that cramped space and or get right behind the 1st class because there is usually extra leg room there and you can even put the babys things on the blanket on the floor. Take a big soft pillow with you to lay the baby on whether it is on the floor, seat or your lap. The baby will be more comfortable and so will you. OR take your car seat with you as you will need it on both ends of the trip and if there is 2 empty seats together you can have the stewardess or steward to get the car seat from storage and put it in the seat for the baby to be in. Most of all relax and be sure to have her suck on a pacificer or drinking from a bottle or nursing when you take off and land so that her ears will pop.
